Implannon is a subcutaneous hormone releasing contraceptive device.  It is inserted by medical doctor into patient’s arm.  It is supposed to be removed after 3 years. Contraceptive protection rate is almost equivalent to oral contraceptive pill.

It is convenient as one do not need to remember to take it on a regular basis.  Complication rate of insertion is rare.
